Suffolk breeders are more than ever reporting the receipt of spam email from the USSA, it’s directors and/or staff. These emails are claiming they are from the Suffolk Association, directors or staff but are not actually from the association anyone affiliated with the organizations. If you received an email asking to send gift cards, money or that send you to a website that looks suspicious and may ask for a password, delete the email. Do not click on the link or open a file. Another red flag is if the email has bad grammar or common words that are misspelled.

One of the easiest ways to check to see if it is a spam email is by looking at what the actual email address is of the sender, not just the printed name.

Photo Contest
Contest Open: January – May 31
Rules:

1. Must be a UJSSA Member.
2. Four Age Divisions: Ages 7 and Under, Ages 8-12, Ages 13-16 and Ages 17-21
3. Photos submitted must feature a Suffolk sheep.
4. Each junior member can enter up to 3 photos.
5. Along with photo submission include name, address, email, phone, and age as of January 1, 2023.
6. Accepted file types include JPG, TIFF and PNG.
7. Prizes awarded to the top 2 photos in each age division.
8. Photo submission deadline is May 31.
9. Submit photos to [email protected]

Promotional Video Contest
Contest Open: June 1 – September 30
Rules:

1.  Must be a UJSSA Member.
2.  Contest will offer 3 age divisions:
   Ages 8-12
   Ages 13-16
   Ages 17-21
3.  The subject matter of the promotional video is “The Suffolk Breed”
4. The video should be at least 30 seconds and no longer than 2 minutes.
5. Each Jr. Director will create their own promotional video as an example. Examples
   will posted by June 1st on the UJSSA Facebook page and the Junior page on the
   USSA website under “Youth”.
6.  Videos should be attached to an email with your name, state, and age as of
   January 1, 2023. Submit videos to [email protected]. Contact the USSA
   Office with any video submission issues.
7. Prizes will be awarded to the top two in each age division. Winning videos will be
   posted on the UJSSA Facebook and Instagram pages
8.  Submission deadline is September 30th, 2023.

Virtual Skill-A-Thon
Contest Open: October 1 – January 31
Rules:

1. Must be a UJSSA Member.
2. Four age divisions: Age 7 and under, Ages 8-12, Ages 13-16 and Ages 17-21
3. Contest forms will be posted on the UJSSA Website under “youth” on October 1
4. Submit the completed contest form; name, address, state, email, phone number, and age as of January 1, 2023 to [email protected]
5. There will be two different contest forms and PowerPoint slide files, be sure you use the correct documents for your age divisions – Division 1) Age 7 and under and Ages 8-12 and Division 2) Ages 13-16 and Ages 17-21
6. Prizes awarded to the top 2 in each age group.
7. Submission deadline is January 31, 2024.
