Photo Contest
Contest Open: January – May 31
Rules:

Must be a UJSSA Member.
Four Age Divisions: Ages 7 and Under, Ages 8-12, Ages 13-16 and Ages 17-21
Photos submitted must feature a Suffolk sheep.
Each junior member can enter up to 3 photos.
Along with photo submission include name, address, email, phone, and age as of January 1, 2023.
Accepted file types include JPG, TIFF and PNG.
Prizes awarded to the top 2 photos in each age division.
Photo submission deadline is May 31.

Promotional Video Contest
Contest Open: June 1 – September 30
Rules:

Must be a UJSSA Member.
Contest will offer 3 age divisions:
Ages 8-12
Ages 13-16
Ages 17-21
The subject matter of the promotional video is “The Suffolk Breed”
The video should be at least 30 seconds and no longer than 2 minutes.
Each Jr. Director will create their own promotional video as an example. Examples
will posted by June 1st on the UJSSA Facebook page and the Junior page on the
USSA website under “Youth”.
Videos should be attached to an email with your name, state, and age as of
January 1, 2023. Submit videos to [email protected]. Contact the USSA
Office with any video submission issues.
Prizes will be awarded to the top two in each age division. Winning videos will be
posted on the UJSSA Facebook and Instagram pages

Virtual Skill-A-Thon
Contest Open: October 1 – January 31
Rules:

Must be a UJSSA Member.
Four age divisions: Age 7 and under, Ages 8-12, Ages 13-16 and Ages 17-21
Contest forms will be posted on the UJSSA Website under “youth” on October 1
Submit the completed contest form; name, address, state, email, phone number, and age as of January 1, 2023 to [email protected]
There will be two different contest forms and PowerPoint slide files, be sure you use the correct documents for your age divisions – Division 1) Age 7 and under and Ages 8-12 and Division 2) Ages 13-16 and Ages 17-21
Prizes awarded to the top 2 in each age group.

Call for Committee Members

A few years ago, the USSA invited non-board members to participate in our various committees. This has been extremely valuable in terms of getting broader input on association activities as well as surfacing potential new future board members. The committees meet via Zoom. The frequency of the meetings depends on how active each committee wants or needs to be. One challenge that we have encountered is that some committees became so large it was difficult for the chair to manage, and to ensure all committee members were able to share their opinions and ideas, and for the committee to reach consensus. In order to keep all of our committees at a manageable size, we have created this short application form. An application is not an automatic appointment. The president will appoint committee members with a goal is to be inclusive of all types of Suffolks and a diversity of opinions. Application deadline is December 15th. Applicants will be notified of committee appointments by January 1st.
